Accessible parking in Madrid
If you're a EU Parking Card holder navigating Madrid, you've probably hit the same problem we have: a parking space marked “accessible” doesn't always live up to the name. Bay widths vary, kerb cuts are missing, and the closest space to the door isn't always the one you'd choose if you knew the details up front.
Close to the Door brings together community-verified parking data from across Spain and the rest of Europe, so you can choose a space in Madrid based on what actually matters — bay width, access aisles, surface type, lighting, kerb cuts and more — before you set off.
Your Tarjeta de Estacionamiento de personas con discapacidad and the EU Parking Card are accepted at dedicated accessible bays across Madrid. Close to the Door's data — bay widths, kerb cuts, surface types and lighting — helps you plan ahead. Coverage extends across Spain and the rest of the EU.
Parking in Madrid: what to expect
Madrid 360 is the city's Low Emission Zone covering the central almond (Almendra Central). Disabled drivers displaying the European Parking Card or the Spanish Tarjeta de Estacionamiento can park free in residential blue zones (zona azul) and at metered SER spots. The area around Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor is partially pedestrianised.
